HOLIDAYS IN THE ECOLOGICAL HABITAT AT THE CONFLUENCE OF TWO UNSPOILT MOUNTAIN STREAMS

Weißenbach

Weissenbach lies at 1,335 metres above sea level at the confluence of the Weissenbach and Talfer. Today this pretty little village has 331 inhabitants.

The forefathers of the Sarntal Valley natives were very precise about the borders between neighbourhoods. Between Muls and Weissenbach, for example, the border still runs exactly between the house and the barn at Heisshof farm today. Numerous finds from the Mesolithic period on the Wannser Joch, Missensteiner Joch and Penser Joch passes and the prehistoric settlements of St. Johann and Stallegg demonstrate that the Muls-Weissenbach area was settled by man long before the birth of Christ. The Grimmhof (Grimo) and Streiterhof (Strither) have old Germanic names.
