SKI MOUNTAINEERING IN SARNTAL VALLEY

Where silence reigns

Climbing under your own steam is more demanding than many are prepared to admit: but the rewards make it all worthwhile. Ski mountaineering is an intimate way to experience nature and winter. Up through the quiet snow-covered landscape in bright sunshine, followed by an exhilarating downhill through deep snow: you too can discover the unspoilt winter landscapes of the Val Sarentino/Sarntal Valley.

Dear cross-country skiers and ski tourers,

the Sarntal holiday destination, in the heart of South Tyrol has been a new partner region of Cross Country Ski Holidays since this winter. The Pensertal, a rustic and snowy side valley of the Sarntal Valley, offers 20 km of cross-country skiing fun and numerous dream ski tours to the surrounding peaks of the Sarntal Alps.

Here you can find the current avalanche report.

A winter hiking map is available from the Tourist office (Kirchplatz 9 in Sarnthein).
