Only experienced ice climbers attempt the challenge of the frozen waterfalls in the mountains. For those who prefer their ice horizontal, there is the ice rink in Sarentino Village, with numerous events on offer such as the ice disco, the local version of curling, broomball or ice hockey.
Sarnthein ice rink
The ice rink is open to the public during the week from 2pm at 5pm, at the weekend and holidays from 2pm at 6pm, from the end of November (or earlier) until the end of February (or later).
Ice skating on the Durnholzer lake
Occasionally you get a winter where the snow falls later than normal. In such winters, the Durnholzer See lake turns into a giant, natural, crystal-clear ice rink, offering hours of fun to avid ice skaters of all ages. (ice skating on the Durnholzer lake only at your own risk!)
Cross-country skiing in the Pensertal Valley
The cross-country trails along the Pensertal Valley will suit both your easy and more daring skiing goals.
