Sarentino, 15 June 2023 - There is still one month to go until the eighth Almrausch & Edelbike bike tour takes place in the Sarntal valley. Numerous mountain bikers and especially e-bikers from near and far will then swing onto their saddles and soak up the breathtaking mountain panorama of Sarntal in pleasure mode. There will be no competition at this unique event on Saturday, 15 July - it's all about mountain biking together in the Sarner Alps.
The Almrausch & Edelbike Volkstour is suitable for (e-)mountain bikers of all kinds who simply want to spend a pleasant day cycling with like-minded people. There are various routes with different levels of difficulty to choose from, all of which are completed without timekeeping. The Gold Tour, with a length of 49 kilometres and 2230 metres of altitude gain, is suitable for the experts, although the particularly hardy bikers can also extend to the Super Gold Tour, which leads above the Waidmann Alm via trail 19A over a length of approx. 7 kilometres with 230 metres of altitude gain, steeply up to the Kuhleiten Hut and back again from there.
In addition to the silver tour (44 kilometres/1765 metres in altitude), the bronze tour is particularly eye-catching. The shortest route is 33 kilometres with 1370 metres of altitude difference and is particularly suitable for families. Since there is no competition behind any of the different distances, it is also possible and even desirable to make a short stop at the five participating alpine huts - the Kirchsteiger Alm, the Mittager Hütte, Möltner Kaser, the Gasthaus Lanzenschuster and the Putzer Kreuz - to refresh yourself and enjoy the mountain panorama without pedalling.
After the great success of the first seven editions of the Almrausch & Edelbike - the last one took place in 2022 - hundreds of participants are expected again this year. "Our aim is for every (e-)mountain biker to enjoy the day with their friends or family in our fabulous mountain world and still rave about Almrausch&Edelbike, or the Sarentino Alps, weeks later," says Perkmann. After the Sarner Bike-Volkstour, the crowning finale is still to come at the Postplatz in Sarnthein. At the "Almrausch & Edelbike Feschtl", participants are treated to delicious dishes from the Restaurant-Pizzeria Post and lively live music by the group "Die Bergdiamanten" and can toast a successful day of mountain biking.
But savings foxes beware: From 26 June, the entry fees for participation will increase. Then adults will have to pay 40 euros instead of 30 euros and children and youths 25 euros instead of 20 euros. Registration is possible as follows: The entry fee (adults 30 € and children and youths up to 18 years (until 2005) 20 €) has to be paid into the account of the Raiffeisenkasse Sarntal, made out to Tourismusverein Sarntal (IBAN: IT 48 L 08233 58870 000300001503). Please state your first and last name, year of birth and the password "8th Almrausch & Edelbike" as the reason for the transfer. All participants will receive a comprehensive starting package, which includes a specially made drinking bottle with the "Almrausch & Edelbike" logo printed on it and a food/drink voucher, which can be redeemed at several huts.
